Chemical Dosing

Chemical dosing is simply a method where chemicals are fed into water to achieve the desired effect. Typical use cases include flocculation of organics, pool water chlorine disinfection and pH control.

Equipment and system principle

A chemical dosing system consists of chemical tank(s) and dosing pump(s). If there is a need to adjust dosing automatically based on measurement, a separate analyser is required. Control of the dosing pumps can be handled through the pump’s own control interface or with a separate automation control system.

Required information for system design

To complete a water treatment system design, a raw water analysis is needed together with information about the required water flow/capacity of the system and the required water quality after treatment or information about the use of the water produced.
